FROM ALBANY…

 

From the airport, go through several lights and stay in the right hand lane. Get onto I-87 South to Albany. Take I-90 West to Buffalo. Get off exit 25A which is I-88 West. Head southwest to Oneonta. Get off at the Oneonta– Route 205 Exit 13. Take a right at the top of the ramp.

 

FROM BINGHAMTON…

 

Take I-88 East. Get off at Oneonta-Route 205 Exit 13. Take a left at the top of the ramp.

 

FROM SYRACUSE…

 

From the N.Y.S. Thruway, take Exit 39 and go east on I-690. Get on I-81 South to the Whitney Point Exit 8. Take a left off the ramp and drive through town. Take a left at the light by the Hess Station onto County Route 206. Go all the way through Greene, Coventry, etc. to Bainbridge. Go diagonally under the light in Bainbridge, cross the river, and go under the I-88 bridge. Take a left onto the ramp for I-88 East. Get off at Oneonta-Route 205 Exit 13. Take a left at the top of the ramp.

 

FROM ONEONTA – ROUTE 205 EXIT 13…

 

Go through four lights – three regulars and one blinking. Veer right (almost straight) at the fifth light – the second blinking yellow light. Go about 4 miles and take a left at the next blinking yellow light. Take a left at the next stop sign onto Main Street Laurens. Go past the school on your right, and take a right just after the American Legion and before the Presbyterian Church. Go about 4 miles more and Gilbert Lake State Park will be on the right. After going through the ticket booth, stop at the Park Office for a park map and other information.

 

The N.Y.S. C.C.C. Museum is located inside the building at the beach at the far end of Gilbert Lake. Park up past the beach on the left – there are three tiers of parking. Go through one of two tunnels to the beach.
