....at Gilbert Lake State Park in New York State

The CCC Worker is a bronze reproduction of a 1930's statue of a CCC Boy during the Great Depression. The statue is a symbol of the determination of the youth of the 1930's and early 1940's to work their way out of poverty. The statue demonstrates the CCC's motto of "WE CAN TAKE IT".
There are nineteen statues in seventeen states at various CCC sites. One statue is located at Letchworth State Park in eastern New York. We would like to place a statue in New York State at Gilbert Lake State Park. Due to the Park's central-location in the state, and the number of CCC structures and workmanship that are still prevalent in the Park, we believe this would be an ideal location for the statue. More information about the statues and where future statues are being placed can be obtained by going to the NACCCA web site under "CCC Worker".
The cost of a statue is $16,850 and includes the plaque. Does anyone have any ideas on how to raise the money?  If you would like a representative from the Museum to speak to your group, please contact us at: nyscccmuseum@stny.rr.com.
